Not to us, Lord, not to us...but to your Name be the glory, because of Your love and faithfulness.
Psalm 115
What We Do
WaRLO goes out in the streets and reaches out to homeless people, distributing food, drinks and basic essentials, while building relationships with the impoverished to make them feel they are not outcasts in the society. At the same time, continuously plans and seeks ways to emerge a community where the street dwellers will experience decent living.
Mission
- To give and spread love, compassion, hope, and future to the homeless.
- To bring the Church to those who cannot bring themselves to church.
- To build a community where the street people can have a decent living: be given a home and access to nutrition and medical assistance, be given formal education and livelihood, and be taught values, social responsibility, and loving God.
Our beginnings
It all started as a simple act of kindness in 2007-2009 doing roving soup kitchen around the major cities of Metro Manila. Initially, the outreach was only for street children. Roaming around the cities, however, opened our eyes to the seriousness of the condition of homelessness. Eventually, the roving soup kitchen started catering to the street elderly, as well. In many instances, as we handed the packed meals to the street children, they beggingly requested for extra, which they said they will give to their parents. Which moved us to also include the homeless adults. Eventually, we also started giving away basic necessities. Until such time when we saw the need to not only feed their stomachs, but it is equally important that we feed their souls. After some time, we incorporated in our outreach simple programs to educate them about Jesus Christ and Salvation, which we believe is the greatest need of mankind.
